The Hole By Hole Analysis Page is a very powerful tool that can be used for multiple, different purposes. It has access to all of the TPMC round scores that have been played over the last 10+ years. Its analysis and sorting tools allow the user to see analyses of individual player scores as well as score analyses of groups that vary from all players to subsets by Handicap. As described below, its uses range between determining the holes an individual player needs to improve to determine better assignment of hole handicaps for all 18 holes.
Learn What Holes You Played Best and Worst This YearSelect Your Player Name, select a 'Rank By' Method and a 'List By' Option. The default time period is 'This Year' so simply examine the hole rankings; this will tell you lots (be sure to read about each Ranking Method to understand what the numbers all mean)
See/Rank/List Data Results As You Want to See ThemThe 'Rank As' and 'List By' Options will organize the presentation of the data associated with your or all data.
The 'Rank As' option separates the data into either a full 18 Ranking or ranking within each 9 hole (if the selected course has 9 hole handicap assignments vs on an 18 hole handicap assignment).
Learn What Holes You Played Best and Worst In Any/All Prior Year To examine the ranking of your data for any other year, or all years, you must browse to the 'Global Filters' page and select the year you want to examine or 'All Available Years' to see all the data in the database for that Course/Tee, while on that page also select your name as 'Player1'. Then browse to the Hole By Hole Analysis page again.
Learn What Holes The Club Played Best and Worst in This or Any/All Prior YearsTo do the same as above for all the Club's data, do all the same thing as the row above, but make sure 'All Players' is show for all 'Player Selection(s)'
Determine How To ReSet The Hole Handicaps For The Club (or the USGA!)If you are intending to investigate the Hole Handicap assignments for each hole based on one of the available methods, perform the settings setup as in the above two rows first, then read all of the information in 'Description of Each of the Above Choices' and use each of the available methods for Hole Handicap Ranking to determine which method best suits you.
Limit The Data Analyzed to Specific (or Other) Handicap RangesUsing any of the available 'Rank By' options, you can then see how the ranking of each option is affected (or driven by) the players within a set of Course Handicaps (HC Indexes) by selecting an option within the 'HC Range' option choices. Understanding how the results are affected differently be either of the two 'Differential' methods and by either of the three 'USGA' methods is crucial.
Learn All of the Above For Other Tees PlayedWhen examining computed results it is always best to limit the group of hole scores included in your analysis to a single specific Tee on the course you are considering (even though a Tee selection is not a necessity for the analysis to work).
Examine Data For Other Courses For Which Round Data Was EnteredThere are scores included in the database for other courses. This is the result of scores being entered into the database from play within splinter groups of the club. The number of scores and courses is limited however.
