Best B9

Game Summary
Best B9 is similar to Best Ball in Many Ways. But different in others. In Best Ball, we typically have two man teams but
in Best B9 you must have two man teams. Like Best Ball each Team's Score is sum of the better Net Scores of the two players. But
~which~ scores are used in each team is how Best B9 is different from Best Ball.

Rules For Best Ball
1) Like Best Ball, understanding Best B9 is easy... once you get it... but explaining it is a bit more challenging. Here's whatyou need to know...
2) Typically 'B' players will, on average, will do well on about half of the 18 holes played. And that's how Best B9 got its name. The B Players 'Best' 9 Net Score Deltas are used (e.g., Net Score Delta for a Birdie is -1). The A Players Net Scores from the 'Other' 9 Holes are added to the B Players Best 9. That's it! Add the Nets Scores from those 18 holes and that is your Teams BB9 score.
3) So how are the B Players Best 9 scores chosen? You ~Always~ start with hole 1 and select the B Players Net Birdies (or better). Let's say there were 4 Net Birdies (mark them on your card). Start again with hole 1 and look for Net Pars. Let's say you find just 4 Net Pars (mark them on your card also). Start again with Hole 1 and look for Net Bogies. But with 4 Net Birdies4 Net Pars you only need 1 more hole score to find the B Players Best 9 (so mark the ~first~ Net Bogie you find). You have now found the B Players Best 9 Scores. Quick math shows that the B Players contribution to the Team Scoreas -3 (4*-1 + 4*0 + 1*-1 = -3).
4) Next add up the A Players Net Score Deltas for the 'other' 9 holes (the hole scores the B Player did not use) and add that total to the total from the B Player. Done!!
5) NOTE: If you are playing with your partner and want to keep track of what your team score is, waituntil you've played 9 holes... and then begin identifying the B Players ~not so good~ Hole Net Scores and realizing that the A Players score on these holes will be used.
